In February I made a trip to New Orleans for my best friends bachelorette party. I had never been and was so excited to experience the city. There are so many things to do in the city but I wanted to narrow it down to the things you must do while you visit New Orleans. We were there for about 3 days and were able to experience a lot of the culture and fun of the city. We got there on a Thursday and stayed until Sunday afternoon.
Cafe Du Monde is a MUST! I suggest getting there early to stand in line. There most likely will be a line. On one of the days we just headed there around 9 before we went to brunch around noon. The beignets are covered in powered sugar goodness! You will also have more than 1, trust me!
Another thing you must do is explore the city. It is such a fun city. All the houses were so cool to look at. You can also take a trolly to see the cottage houses and mansions in the Garden District. We mostly stayed around the French Quarter though. Which there is so much to do around the French quarter. I mean Hello! Bourbon Street. Which I highly recommend to walk bourbon street during the day as well as at night. During the day we grabbed daiquiri drinks/ or a hurricane and walked around Bourbon Street. I was really surprised how lively it was during the day. Obviously it is more lively during the night.
Another delicious place for food is Brennan’s. It was the most decadent brunch but so worth it! I had the Eggs Benedict but one of the other girls got French toast and it was delicious. To be honest really anything you have is going to be delicious. It also is the prettiest restaurant as well. It was a bloggers dream lol. I do recommend to make a reservation if you decide to go, otherwise I don’t think you would be able to get in.
I ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was absolutely delicious!
Brennans patio was amazing! It was a little chilly for the time we went though.
Another night we did the Haunted Bar Crawl, which I highly recommend. It is amazing to me the rich history of New Orleans. My favorite drink from the bar crawl was the Irish Coffee.
After the bar crawl we ended up going to different bars around the area. Which it is pretty cool each of the areas have their own neighborhood bar where the locals hang out. You also have to hit up bourbon street when you go.
Another restaurant we went to was SoBou. It had such a cool vibe. The food was delish. They also had very unique cuisines. For example, you can order a whole fish–head and all. If you aren’t quite as adventurous they have cuisines for you. I ordered the steak sliders and they were super tasty! We also tasted some pretty interesting appetizers as well. Below is avocado ice cream in a tuna cone. I can honestly say that is the weirdest combo. I didn’t like the tuna part but loved the avocado ice cream. They also had mini king cakes which were amazing!
Overall it was an awesome trip. I can’t wait to go back again. Which this guide is just what we did. If we were there longer I am sure we would of had more time to do other things. I would love to go to a NBA game or NFL game next time we go.
